Pilates, built
around your body.

Clinical Pilates is Pilates delivered by a physiotherapist, with a rehab assessment behind every exercise. It's not a drop-in class where everyone does the same routine. Your session is programmed around what your assessment shows, then progressed as you get stronger.

Sessions are primarily on the reformer, with mat work added when it fits your program. The spring resistance lets us load movement in a controlled, supported way, building deep core control, joint stability, and the strength to move well under real-world demand. Whether you're rehabbing an injury or just want to move better, every rep has a reason.

What we work on

Core & spinal control

Deep stabilizers, breathing mechanics, and control through the trunk and pelvis.

Reformer-based loading

Spring resistance to load movement safely, with support where you need it.

Mobility & stability

Range of motion paired with the strength to own and control that range.

Rehab progressions

A structured ladder from post-injury to confident, full-capacity movement.

Pre & postnatal movement

Safe, supported strength and core work through and after pregnancy.

Who we
help.

Clinical Pilates works for people coming back from injury and for people who simply want to build durable strength and control. If any of this sounds like you, it's a good fit.

Low back pain

Chronic stiffness, recurring flare-ups, and core control that hasn't held up.

Post-injury rehab

A controlled, supported way to rebuild strength after an injury or flare.

Pre & postnatal

Safe core and pelvic strength work through pregnancy and after delivery.

Core & stability gaps

Trouble controlling the trunk, pelvis, or hips under load or fatigue.

Posture & desk strain

Stiffness and weakness from long days seated and low movement.

Mobility & control

Building the strength to own your range, not just stretch into it.

Return to training

A controlled bridge between rehab and getting back to lifting, running, or sport.

Older adult strength

Balance, bone-loading, and confident movement that keeps you independent.

General conditioning

Smart, low-impact strength and control for anyone who wants to move better.

Your
first session.

Your initial session is 60 minutes, 1-on-1 with your physiotherapist. Follow-ups are 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on what your program needs.

01

The conversation

We start with your history, your goals, and what you're trying to move better for, whether that's pain relief, post-injury strength, or performance.

02

Movement assessment

We screen core control, mobility, and strength to find where things break down, so every exercise we pick has a clear reason behind it.

03

On the reformer & mat

You start moving day one. Reformer, mat, and props loaded to the right level, with hands-on cueing so you feel the right muscles working.

04

A program that progresses

You leave with a clear plan and exercises that get harder as you do, so each session builds on the last instead of repeating it.

Not a class.
Your session.

You get the full hour with your physiotherapist, start to finish. No shared equipment, no generic routine, no waiting your turn. Just one practitioner, one plan, and exercises chosen for your body.

Same practitioner every visit, a program that actually progresses, and a clear path from where you are to where you want to move.

Who provides this.

Clinical Pilates at PRT is delivered by registered physiotherapists with training in Pilates-based rehabilitation. That's the difference between Clinical Pilates and a studio class, every session is built on a clinical assessment and progressed like rehab.

Common questions.

What's the difference between Clinical Pilates and a regular Pilates class?
Clinical Pilates is delivered 1-on-1 by a registered physiotherapist and built on a movement assessment, so the exercises are chosen and progressed for your body and your goals. A studio class is a group following the same routine. Because it's physiotherapist-led, Clinical Pilates is also typically covered under physiotherapy benefits.
Do I need any Pilates experience?
No. Most people who come in have never touched a reformer. We teach you everything, start at the right level, and progress from there. Complete beginners are welcome.
Does insurance cover Clinical Pilates?
Because it's delivered by a registered physiotherapist, most extended health plans cover it under physiotherapy. We offer direct billing for most major insurers as a courtesy. Some plans require a physician's referral for reimbursement, so check your specific plan before booking if you want insurance to cover the visit. Direct billing isn't a guarantee of coverage.
Is it 1-on-1 or a group?
One-on-one. The whole session is yours with the same physiotherapist, start to finish. No shared equipment and no waiting your turn.
Can I do Clinical Pilates while I'm rehabbing an injury?
Often, yes, that's exactly what it's built for. Because your physiotherapist programs and supervises every exercise, Clinical Pilates can run alongside your rehab as a controlled, supported way to rebuild strength and control. We'll make sure it fits your stage of recovery.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, flexible clothing you can move in, like leggings or shorts and a fitted top. Grip socks are recommended for the reformer, and we can point you to a pair if you don't have them.
