Pilates with a rehab brain behind it. One-on-one, physiotherapist-led reformer sessions built around your body, not a class plan. Controlled load, real progressions, and a clear path from injury or weakness back to confident movement. At PRT East York.
Clinical Pilates is Pilates delivered by a physiotherapist, with a rehab assessment behind every exercise. It's not a drop-in class where everyone does the same routine. Your session is programmed around what your assessment shows, then progressed as you get stronger.
Sessions are primarily on the reformer, with mat work added when it fits your program. The spring resistance lets us load movement in a controlled, supported way, building deep core control, joint stability, and the strength to move well under real-world demand. Whether you're rehabbing an injury or just want to move better, every rep has a reason.
Deep stabilizers, breathing mechanics, and control through the trunk and pelvis.
Spring resistance to load movement safely, with support where you need it.
Range of motion paired with the strength to own and control that range.
A structured ladder from post-injury to confident, full-capacity movement.
Safe, supported strength and core work through and after pregnancy.
Clinical Pilates works for people coming back from injury and for people who simply want to build durable strength and control. If any of this sounds like you, it's a good fit.
Chronic stiffness, recurring flare-ups, and core control that hasn't held up.
A controlled, supported way to rebuild strength after an injury or flare.
Safe core and pelvic strength work through pregnancy and after delivery.
Trouble controlling the trunk, pelvis, or hips under load or fatigue.
Stiffness and weakness from long days seated and low movement.
Building the strength to own your range, not just stretch into it.
A controlled bridge between rehab and getting back to lifting, running, or sport.
Balance, bone-loading, and confident movement that keeps you independent.
Smart, low-impact strength and control for anyone who wants to move better.
Your initial session is 60 minutes, 1-on-1 with your physiotherapist. Follow-ups are 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on what your program needs.
We start with your history, your goals, and what you're trying to move better for, whether that's pain relief, post-injury strength, or performance.
We screen core control, mobility, and strength to find where things break down, so every exercise we pick has a clear reason behind it.
You start moving day one. Reformer, mat, and props loaded to the right level, with hands-on cueing so you feel the right muscles working.
You leave with a clear plan and exercises that get harder as you do, so each session builds on the last instead of repeating it.
One-on-one rates with your physiotherapist. Most extended health plans cover Clinical Pilates as physiotherapy, and we offer direct billing for most major insurers.
Direct billing isn't a guarantee of coverage, it's a convenience. Some plans require a physician's referral for reimbursement, so check your specific plan before booking if you want insurance to cover the visit.
You get the full hour with your physiotherapist, start to finish. No shared equipment, no generic routine, no waiting your turn. Just one practitioner, one plan, and exercises chosen for your body.
Same practitioner every visit, a program that actually progresses, and a clear path from where you are to where you want to move.
Clinical Pilates at PRT is delivered by registered physiotherapists with training in Pilates-based rehabilitation. That's the difference between Clinical Pilates and a studio class, every session is built on a clinical assessment and progressed like rehab.
