What NormaTec
does.

NormaTec boots use sequential pneumatic compression to move blood and fluid through your legs, mimicking the natural muscle pump. It's the same tech used by pro teams and Olympic athletes for a reason, and for the last decade it's been priced low enough to make sense for everyday humans too.

Show up in something you can kick back in. 30 minutes, and your legs feel noticeably lighter on the way out. That's the whole pitch.

What the session does

Circulation boost

Rhythmic compression moves blood and lymph through tired tissue.

Recovery support

Supports muscle recovery after long runs, rides, or hard sessions.

Swelling reduction

Helpful for mild swelling in the lower legs and feet.

Parasympathetic reset

The 30 minutes is surprisingly meditative. Bring headphones.

When people
book it.

Compression boots aren't a cure for a specific injury. They're a tool. Most of our recovery-room users fall into one of these buckets:

Post-long run

Sunday long run, Monday morning boots. Classic combo.

Post-race

Marathon, Hyrox, triathlon, or any hard effort where your legs are toast.

Training camps

During a high-volume week to stay on top of recovery.

Heavy lifting blocks

Quad and posterior chain work accumulates. Boots help flush it.

Standing all day

For folks who are on their feet for work, including nurses and teachers.

Long-haul travel

Post-flight circulation support. Pair with a walk.

Mild leg swelling

Non-medical swelling from heat, long days, or activity.

Event prep

Day-before or morning-of sessions to feel fresh at the line.

Just feeling worn down

Some sessions are just good for the nervous system.

How a session
works.

Sessions are simple. Come in, sit down, strap in, kick back for 30 minutes.

01

Check in

Arrive a few minutes before your session. Front desk confirms your booking and shows you to the recliner.

02

Get set up

Slip the boots on. They zip up the inside of each leg. Sit back in the recliner, blanket optional.

03

The 30 minutes

Boots inflate and deflate in sequential zones from the feet up. Bring headphones, a podcast, or just nap.

04

Head out

Unzip, hop out, grab water. Your legs will feel noticeably lighter.

A useful tool,
used well.

Compression boots won't cure an injury and they won't replace sleep, protein, or smart training. What they do is give your legs a 30-minute circulation boost that genuinely helps, especially when stacked with your other recovery habits.

It's low effort and consistently available. The 30 minutes of sitting still is half the value.

Who provides this.

NormaTec sessions are self-guided. The front desk sets you up, explains the machine, and checks in afterward. If you want to know whether compression is the right fit for a specific goal (pre-race prep, post-injury protocol), one of our practitioners can advise.

Common questions.

Do I need a referral?
No. You can book compression sessions directly. No medical intake required for general recovery use.
Is it covered by insurance?
Most insurance plans don't cover compression sessions directly. Sessions are paid out of pocket. See the pricing options below.
How much does a Recovery Room session cost?
Three ways in: $15 single drop-in session (pay as you go, no commitment); Recovery Club membership at $25/month for Resilience Fitness members or $40/month for non-members (unlimited sessions, includes NormaTec, red light therapy, and the infrared sauna at Scarborough); or book through ClassPass using your credits. Ask the front desk at either location to sign up for the Recovery Club.
Who should NOT use compression boots?
People with active blood clots (DVT), severe peripheral artery disease, open wounds on the legs, or acute leg infections should not use NormaTec. If you're pregnant, managing a medical condition, or unsure, check with your doctor first.
How often can I do it?
As often as you want. Many people do 2 or 3 sessions per week during heavy training blocks. Daily is fine if you want it.
What should I wear?
Shorts, or any pants you're comfortable stretching your legs out in. Boots go over your clothing or bare legs, either works.
Can I stack it with other services?
Yes. NormaTec pairs well with red light therapy, physio/chiro sessions, or a sauna (at Scarborough). Ask the front desk about pairing.
