A performance rehabilitation clinic built on one principle: every patient deserves a practitioner's full attention, every single session.
PRT was built because the standard model of physiotherapy and chiropractic wasn't working for active people. Rushed appointments, passive treatment, and generic exercise sheets don't build capacity. They manage symptoms. We do it differently.
Every session is 1-on-1. Every treatment plan is specific to you, your sport, and what you want to do. We combine manual therapy with progressive loading because that's what the evidence supports, and because it actually works.
Your session is with your practitioner from start to finish. No assistants, no double-booking, no 10-minute check-ins. You get the full time with the person who knows your case. That's the minimum standard we think effective treatment requires.
Hands-on treatment relieves pain and improves tissue quality. But structural adaptation (the kind that lasts) requires progressive mechanical load. We combine both, because one without the other is incomplete. We don't use passive modalities as a substitute for loading.
The goal is always the thing you actually care about: running the race, finishing the season, lifting the weight, playing with your kids. Every treatment plan we write is built around that end point, which usually means we're working on more than just the complaint that brought you in.
We follow the research. That means loading tendinopathies instead of resting them, using isometrics for pain management, and being honest about the limits of passive modalities. When the evidence changes, our practice changes. We also take the time to explain the why behind your plan, because patients who understand their rehab stick to it.
Every practitioner at PRT is expected to keep learning. Clinical rounds, research review, and ongoing education are part of the work, not something we squeeze in after hours.
We take full ownership of outcomes. If a treatment approach isn't working, we change it. We don't wait for patients to ask. We're always evaluating and adjusting.
PRT exists inside the communities of East York and Scarborough. Run clubs, events, partnerships with local gyms: we're part of the ecosystem around us.
PRT was founded by Dr. Daniel Silva and Jerikka Nahibuan, a chiropractor and physiotherapist who shared a vision for what a clinic could be when quality of care isn't compromised by volume.
Dr. Daniel Silva and Jerikka Nahibuan open the Scarborough clinic at 2100 Ellesmere Road in July 2023, just the two of them. 1-on-1 care from day one.
Second location opens November 2025 inside Resilience Fitness at 1400 O'Connor Drive, East York. The Recovery Room launches with NormaTec, red light therapy, and the HyperIce Stretch Zone.
Jerikka adds pelvic health physiotherapy to her practice (pre/post-natal, incontinence, and pelvic pain), available at both locations.
PRT continues to grow its roster of practitioners across both locations, maintaining the 1-on-1 standard at scale.
